Every day, I hear fantastic things about what is good in the world.
I hear about the bad, too, and I don't deny it exists, but I refuse to give into the pessimism and cynicism I know is out there.
I choose to be a person of action.
I choose to have a good attitude.
I choose to enjoy life and do what I can to help whoever I can, whenever I can.
Do I miss the mark sometimes? You bet.
Am I going to let that discourage me? No way.

My new book The Least of These, is a novel which is a call to action with a message for all of us that we can change the world.

The premise is simple. What if one day, in the not too distant future, over-spending by the federal government finally created a financial crisis so unprecedented and overwhelming that every social service program administered by the government was dismantled? From food stamps to Social Security. From free lunches to farm subsidies. All gone. Millions of people with no where to turn except to others.
What would happen?
Would the strong prevail and the weak be trampled underfoot?

Or would we rise up, and begin to take care of those around us?
